Hero Review #2

Hello again fans and welcome to the second part of my blog series. Here in this segment we will look at the iconic Marvel character Hulk. Shortly we will try look at The Hulk in a new light.

"I'll be the first to admit that The Incredible Hulk is not your typical type of hero. Actually, it all depends on how one defines the word hero".

Stan Lee
Creator of the iconic heroes we know today
2009

The Hulk is one of the the most powerful creatures on Earth tossed between the boundaries of hero and villain in all reality an outsider. Always on the run. He almost died at birth some people might wish he had. His father an atomic physicist that worked for the U.S. government. In the beginning his father began to have paranoia about radiation. Soon after his wife was pregnant he was convinced the baby was a mutant. A few years later his father had accidentally killed her in a fit of anger. Still a child Bruce tried to cover for his father during the investigation. Science was the only thing that mattered to young Bruce. He had devoted all his time and energy towards his studies. Years later when Bruce like his father worked for the government. In a concrete bunker Bruce waited for the testing of the G-bomb. Suddenly what looked to be a teenager (Rick Jones) in the the bombs blast radius. Ordering Igor to halt the countdown although Igor had no intention of obeying him. Bruce ran to save the Rick. He had hurled into a trench seconds before the blast. Then it happened. Bruce got caught in the blast. Bathed in radiation he and the Rick Jones were rushed to the hospital. As the sun set Rick saw Banner undergo a terrifying transformation. His Bones extended his skin became grey his muscles grew. He had become The Incredible Hulk . Later when Bruce was exposed to further radiation he became the green Goliath we know today. Haunted by the Hulk Bruce tried relentlessly to get rid of him but never succeeded. I always wondered did Bruce associate the Hulk with his childhood? So how do you look at the Hulk? Hero? Menace? The Hulk's life was hard never the less. Always on the run.

I give this hero three out of five
